Basically, affiliate marketing is simply an agreement that says the owner of the website will allow the merchant the right to use their website for advertising purposes. The merchant will be allowed to advertise a specific product or they will be allowed to link directly to their own website. The website owner then receives a commission for every sale that is generated by the advertisement or link.
